What's actually included in a full interior car detail?

A 'full' interior detail means different things at different shops. Here's the canonical Clean Cut Auto Care checklist so you know exactly what you're paying for.

The canonical Full Detail checklist

A Full Detail at Clean Cut Auto Care includes ten distinct line items. Knowing what's on the list lets you compare quotes honestly across detailers.

  • Full interior vacuum — seats, floors, trunk and cargo area, between seats, under seats.
  • Deep wipe-down of all surfaces — dash, console, doors, panels, trim.
  • Interior and exterior glass — including mirrors.
  • Floor mats cleaned and dressed — pulled out, cleaned, conditioned.
  • Deep dust and debris removal — vents, cup holders, crevices.
  • Spot stain treatment — on seats and carpets where present.
  • Interior surface protection / dressing — applied where appropriate.
  • Leather seat care — clean and condition on leather-equipped vehicles.
  • Door jambs cleaned — the strip you only see when the door is open.
  • Light fragrance refresh — applied at the end.

What's NOT in the Full Detail

Carpet and upholstery shampoo with hot-water extraction is in Signature, not Full. Heavy stain treatment is in Signature. Odor treatment is in Signature. Steam cleaning is in Signature. Headliner work is in Black Label.

If you need any of those, the Signature Detail at $240 is the next tier.

How long it takes

Full Detail runs 2 to 3 hours depending on vehicle condition and size. Trucks and SUVs sit at the longer end. A Honda Civic that was detailed 4 months ago might come in under 2 hours; an SUV that hasn't been detailed in a year sits closer to 3.
